This is the latest version of the Gravity Interactive site and it belongs to a Web Design and Development company I’ve worked with for some time now. The site design is nice and minimalist and only uses one whole image for the main design.

It has been built on the Wordpress blogging and CMS platform in order to build in a regular company update and I’ve incorporated some jQuery as a sliding banner section. The contact form follows my usual front-end jQuery validation and back-end PHP eMail validation, this time the design of the forms it a little more modern and large in appearance.

Over the longer term there will be a regular monthly focus on Search Engine Optimisation linked to the local areas the company aims to serve.

Alpha Batteries

Alpha Batteries needed a complete web design package when they called me. Whilst they’d built a growing eBay store they felt they were missing out on a potentially lucrative eCommerce store and I had to agree. We also decided that the brand as a whole needed building into a name that people would recognise, we started slowly with both Website Baker and Cubecart in order to test the demand – and what demand it was! At present we’re around 3 months into the project and the eShop is performing so well that we’re ahead schedule and already looking into further investment into the website and I cant wait to start.

When I first spoke to John I told him that when I join a business in a web project my aim is for the long term and to be still working with them in 10, 20, 30 years time. I can truly say im looking forward to those years to come as Alpha Batteries are an excellent client and a genuine good bunch of people and we’re working together to make their web presence a great success.

Care Necessities

This project has been up to now purely a Search Engine Optimisation task working alongside another SEO consultant. There was a complete refresh of the key SEO factors of the site, from title and keyword tags to updating Google site-maps and adding breadcrumb style links.

The website is built on a custom CMS and eCommerce system written in PHP, hence it was necessary to delve in and work around unfamiliar code to fully implement the required changes.

MRT Books

Having worked with me before the owners of MRT Books gave me a call after they had redesigned their existing websites. The brief was in developing a simple but effective quote form that would allow them to create different input options depending on the choices made on the form.

The front-end is jQuery powered using input validation, AJAX form submittal and dynamically adjusted form inputs to ensure the process is straightforward for visitors. The back-end is a simple PHP script that performs another stage of validation in case Javascript is disabled, whilst checking the sending eMail address against spam abuse of the PHP.

If you check the site out beware as the form is live and fully functional!
